Have the Remains of Noah's Ark Been Discovered?

The tale of Noah’s Ark is one of the most infamous biblical stories that has captivated the world. Naturally, there is plenty of curiosity around where Noah’s Ark might be now and researchers in Turkey may have gotten a step closer to locating it and bringing a new understanding of the ancient world.

The Hunt for the Ark

There has always been interest in the current location of the Ark. While some believers see the story as more of a myth or metaphor, others believe the event did actually occur as described in the bible. Many believers, scholars, and archeologists have attempted to locate the Ark in an effort to confirm their beliefs.

The Ark’s Location

The Bible states that the Ark arrived on Turkey’s “mountains of Aratat” after the 150-day flood sent by God. Since 2021, archaeologists have been working at a geological formation in the Doğubayazıt district of Ağrı in eastern Turkey, which aligns with the description in the Bible. The Durofeiner formation looks, from above, to have a boat-like outline. Some suggest this could in fact be the fossilized remains of the Ark.

Evidence of the Ark

The “Mount Ararat and Noah’s Ark Research Team” is a collaboration between Turkish and American universities. The team has worked at the site since 2021 and has taken samples from the rock formation, revealing evidence of seafood, clay, and marine materials.

Some skeptics believe the evidence taken from the scene could be a result of human contamination over the years. However, researchers on-site are convinced that it is evidence of the real Noah’s Ark. The site is uncannily ark-shaped and large enough to match the Ark, which is described in the bible to be about 515 feet long, 86 feet wide, and 52 feet high.

Speculation

Research Continues

Despite speculation regarding the site, researchers continue to study and find evidence of the Ark’s existence and resting spot.
