Despite its reputation for pricey homes and upscale living, Massachusetts is grappling with significant financial issues.

A recent study points to the arrival of 50,000 non-legal migrants since the start of Joe Biden’s presidency, which has placed a heavy load on public services like education and healthcare.

Massachusetts faces a daunting fiscal challenge, with an expected drain of $1.8 trillion from state funds over the next two years due to migrant costs.

Jessica Vaughan points out, “this revenue will not come close to the cost of social services for all 355,000 of them,” highlighting the imbalance between income and expenditures.

Facing these myriad challenges, Jessica Vaughan calls for stricter immigration policies.

She believes reducing welfare to migrants and tightening employment laws could help balance the books. She also suggests rethinking sanctuary city policies and leveraging the remittances migrants send home.
