NFL stars are some of the best-paid athletes in the world. With an average salary of nearly $3 million per year, it’s easy to see why many college students are drawn toward football as a career path.

However, the Tom Bradys and Aaron Rodgers of the world have net worths far exceeding a few million dollars.

As another NFL season culminates in February with another historic Super Bowl, teams are already preparing for how their 2024 rosters will look.

The staff has a lot to consider, but the most important factor is how to fit 53 players into a league with a maximum salary cap of $240 million.

While $240 million may seem like an astronomical amount of money, the managers still have incredibly tough decisions to make.

When you consider that certain individuals in the team gobble up a large amount of cash, it can be difficult for the managers to ensure they remain within budget.

According to recent reports, the top individual salaries in the NFL are approaching $50 million.

Such an exorbitant amount of money has led to NFL stars being ranked among some of the richest athletes on earth. Let’s find out just how wealthy some NFL players really are.

In 2021, Aaron Rodgers won the title of NFL’s Most Valuable Player after leading the Green Bay Packers to 13-3 in the regular season. Such an accomplishment greatly added to his overall personal value.

While no one can say for sure, experts are fairly certain that the New York Jets quarterback has a net worth of around $200 million.

    Patrick Mahomes

Patrick Mahomes earned himself the MVP title in just his second year with the NFL in 2018. This has allowed him to build up an impressive net worth in just six seasons.

According to sources, the #15 quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs has an impressive net worth of $70 million. However, it will dramatically increase over the next few years as the NFL star signed a 10-year, $450 million contract extension in 2022.

Travis Kelce has been climbing the rankings of the richest NFL players after signing a substantial endorsement deal with Midwest Grocery giant Hy-Vee back in 2022.

In 2018, Aaron Donald signed a substantial six-year deal worth over $135 million with the Los Angeles Rams.

In 2022, Russel Wilson was traded by the Seahawks to the Denver Broncos, where he signed a five-year $242.6 million contract.

The Super Bowl winner was awarded a $50 million signing bonus and an average salary of $48.5 million per year upon putting ink to paper. As it stands, he has a whopping net worth of $165 million.

Wide receiver Davante Adams spent seven great years with the Green Bay Packers before being traded to the Las Vegas Raiders in 2021. His stats in his first season with the Raiders showed them he was worth every dime of his $140 million contract.

Adams also makes passive income through endorsements with companies such as Pepsi, Nike, and Head and Shoulders, all of which contribute to his net worth of $25 million.

    Peyton Manning

Over a long 15-year career, Peyton Manning won five MVP awards, which stands as a record to this day. Even though he hasn’t played in close to a decade, the former star has continued to make a lot of money.

Manning made over $250 million during his time as a player. He continues to be part of the game with “Manningcast,” a show he co-hosts with his brother Eli on ESPN 2. Today, the former star has a net worth of nearly $300 million.

No list of wealthy NFL stars would be complete without the legend Tom Brady. He has won an incredible six Super Bowls championships over his impressive 20-year career.

Having been at the top of the game for so long, it makes sense that the recently retired Brady has amassed quite a fortune. Reports suggest that he has a net worth of over $300 million.
