Larry David, the creator of “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” expressed strong disapproval of former President Donald Trump in a recent interview with Chris Wallace on CNN.

He accused Trump of acting like an “insane sociopath” and a “little baby” in response to losing the 2020 election.

In the interview, David discussed the implications of Trump’s behavior, suggesting that it represented a disregard for the democratic process that has governed the United States for over two centuries.

He stated, “He’s thrown 250 years of democracy out the window,” indicating his belief that Trump’s refusal to accept the 2020 presidential election results was an affront to the nation’s democratic foundations.

Larry David voiced his frustration over Donald Trump’s inability to concede the 2020 election, emphasizing the impact of his actions.

“He’s so insane. He just couldn’t admit to losing. And we know he lost! He knows he lost!” David remarked. He criticized Trump for misleading the public about the election outcome, stating, “And look how he’s fooled everybody. He’s convinced all these people that he didn‘t lose. He’s such a sick man. He is so sick.”

Larry David did not hold back in his critique of Trump, labeling him a “sociopath” for his inability to concede defeat in the election.

David said “He’s such a sociopath. He’s so insane,” these remarks were part of a broader condemnation of Trump’s insistence that the election was stolen, despite a lack of evidence to support such claims.

The comedian also shared how Trump’s refusal to accept the election results has been a constant source of frustration, emphasizing the emotional toll it has taken on him and presumably others who share his views.

“You can’t go a day without thinking about what he’s done to this country,” David said, pointing out the pervasive impact of Trump’s actions.

David’s anti-Trump views are well documented thanks to an incident involving David and Alan Dershowitz, a former friend and Trump’s impeachment lawyer, on Martha’s Vineyard.

Dershowitz described an encounter where David “screamed” and “yelled” at him, fearing that David was so agitated he might have a stroke.

David has actively supported various Democratic candidates and causes, signifying his political leanings.

His financial contributions to Pete Buttigieg’s presidential campaign and to Democratic Senators Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock for their 2020 campaigns are notable examples of his commitment to supporting Democratic efforts in the United States.

David’s portrayal of Senator Bernie Sanders on “Saturday Night Live” (SNL) further showcases his engagement with political themes through comedy.

His impersonation of Sanders during the Democratic primary campaign against Hillary Clinton captured the public’s attention, blending humor with political commentary.

An interesting connection to current politics is David’s indirect link to the 2024 presidential race through Cheryl Hines, his co-star on “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” who is married to Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Kennedy is seeking to run in the presidential election, providing a unique intersection between David’s professional and political spheres.

In an episode of “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” Larry David used a MAGA hat as a plot device, calling it “a great people repellant.”

This humorous yet politically charged use of the hat indicates David’s critical stance on Trump and his supporters, blending his comedic work with political commentary.

This episode garnered criticism from Trump allies, including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who said she felt it portrayed conservatives in a negative light.

Greene’s response highlights the contentious nature of David’s political humor and its reception among Trump’s supporters.

Trump is dealing with charges related to the mishandling of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago, is involved in two election-related cases—one federal and one in Fulton County, Georgia—and is preparing for a trial in New York over alleged hush-money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels.
