    Kamala Harris has based much of her Presidential campaign around her middle class upbringing. However, Donald Trump recently took to social media and claimed that Harris’ salary and net worth are much higher than she would care to admit.

    Let’s take a look at Vice President’s Kamala Harris’ true net worth and how it compares to that of former President Donald Trump and Joe Biden.

    While reports vary on what exactly is the Vice President’s net worth, Investopedia estimates it to be around $8 Million. Most of the value comes from her real estate— namely her Los Angeles home— as well as her government pensions. 

    Her home in Brentwood, California is her only owned property between her and her husband and the 3,500 square-foot home makes up more than half of her net worth. She also had apartments in Washington D.C. and San Francisco which she sold in 2021. 

    As Vice President of the United States, she earns $235,000 each year. Forbes estimates that she has about $1 Million in pensions. 

    Throughout her journey from district attorney in San Francisco to the White House, she has also authored 3 books, which have contributed to her net worth most significantly in 2021.

    How Does Kamala Harris' Net Worth Compare to Trump and Biden?

    Forbes estimates Trump’s net worth to be about $5.5 Billion as of October 2024, despite claims from Trump that the figure is actually much higher. His real estate business ventures prior to becoming President of the United States lent them selves to his wealth as well as inheritance, Trump-branded products, and political fundraisers. He graces Bloomberg’s list of 500 Richest People.

    Joe Biden, on the other hand, has a net worth of about $10 Million according to Forbes. He has had  along illustrious career in government since age 29. He was one of the youngest people to ever be elected into the U.S. Senate. The bulk of his earnings come from his presidential salary, real estate, pensions, and some book royalties. His presidential salary is $400,000.
