According to Reuters, Donald Trump said he would love to have Elon Musk in his government.

Musk was described as a “brilliant guy” and “smart” by the GOP nominee.

If he wins in November, former President Donald Trump wants billionaire Elon Musk to serve in his administration.

Trump offered a statement regarding the potential of appointing Musk to a cabinet or advisory position, as per Reuters.

Refuting Speculation

The Wall Street Journal reported in May that Musk had discussed joining Trump’s government with him.

Musk stated in an X post that “there have not been any discussions of a role for me in a potential Trump Presidency” to refute The Journal’s report.

Softening Approach

However, it appears that Musk has softened his approach to working for a possible Trump administration.

Musk stated that if Trump is elected president again, he would be eager to serve on a potential government efficiency commission during his live stream with Trump last week.

“Happy to Help Out”

During the interview with Trump, Musk stated, “I think it would be great to just have a government efficiency commission that takes a look at these things and just ensures that the taxpayers’ hard-earned money is spent in a good way.”

In a July 23 Truth Social post, the former president stated that he “never discussed, or thought of” having Dimon serve as his treasury secretary.

Following the live stream between Musk and Trump, what role the former will play in the latter’s bid for President remains to be seen.
