A couple from California who worked as teachers for many years in the Golden State decided to quit their jobs in 2021 after coming to the conclusion that public schools were indoctrinating children, not educating them.

This led the pair to open an Anti-Woke Christian school that aimed to revolt against what they refer to as the extreme left-leaning propaganda being promoted at public schools.

Kali and Joshua Called BLM Support Hateful

Kali, who is mixed-race alongside her husband, Joshua, of Puerto Rican and Mexican descent, admitted they were unhappy with the closure of schools during the pandemic and how colleagues strongly embraced the Black Lives Matter movement, which they believed was “false and hateful.”

However, what most frustrated the couple was their school’s history lessons, which paint America as systematically racist, an idea they are both against.

Kali Submits Letter to School Board

In the summer of 2021, Kali wrote a letter and sent it to the school board, which read, “If the district continues to move forward with all these divisive teachings, it will only harden the hearts of many of our students.”

The Californian Couple Found a Christian School

Not long after quitting their jobs, the couple decided to move to Florida in an attempt to fulfill their mission of founding a Christian school.

A Haven For People

According to Kali and Joshua, they chose Florida as they believed Rob DeSantis’ state was a safe haven for people who shared similar beliefs to them.

Kali attempts to make the point that throughout the entirety of American history, there were good people and bad people. However, by only focusing on the negative, as she claims most public schools do, she believes teachers are misleading the students.

Two Sides of American History

“There are certain people that are saying, ‘Oh, White people owe Black people for slavery,’” Kali said.

“But what about the White people who were descendants of the Quakers, who actually had a lot of negative consequences that happened to them for helping free the slaves?”
