A cafe owner in Australia has been slammed online after a video posted to social media shows him kicking a family out of his buissness.

While the owner argues the removal was warranted, online viewers have mixed reactions about his decision.

Adrian Dall’oste owns the popular Adele’s Cafe, which is located in Horseshoe Bay on Magnetic Island in Australia.

Recently, he has come under fire after he was forced to ask a family to leave the cafe after their children became disruptive.

Dall’oste is a co-owner of the business, alongside his partner, and claims it’s the first time in just under a decade he was forced to ask a customer to leave.

The request came after the family started to argue amongst themselves inside the cafe, famed for its cold drinks and gelato.

When speaking with the Australian news, Townsville Bulletin, Dall’oste revealed precisely what started the argument.

He claims the children, aged two and three, started acting up after their parents forced them to share a gelato dessert instead of having their own.

According to Dall’oste, one of the young children was so upset with the news that they began to damage parts of his cafe.

He claims the older of the two kids attacked several decorations before launching a metal flask onto the floor.

The Australian cafe owner claims the child continued on his rampage for over 15 minutes.

At this point, the child was “absolutely screeching,” and so Dall’oste, who had had enough of the behavior, decided to intervene and asked the family to leave.

The tail end of the situation was later posted online by a customer who had been seated in the cafe.

After the video was uploaded to social media, Dall’oste began to receive backlash for his handling of the situation.

Laura Edwards was the face behind the camera. She went on to post about the cafe owner, claiming he was in the wrong for asking the family to leave.

“It wasn’t a meltdown or tantrum; my kids make more noise than these kids do. It was just a grizzly kid needing some help to sort through his emotions at the time,” she said.

Dall’oste was confused about why Edwards had commented on the situation in the first place, claiming she’d only entered the cafe seconds earlier.

However, Edwards later confirmed she felt within her rights to stand up for the family because she has children of her own.

Edwards hinted that the situation wasn’t as bad as Dall’oste had made it out to be, and he could have refrained from asking the family to leave.

“The parents were sitting down with them; they weren’t running riot,” she said.

After receiving backlash on social media for kicking the family out of the cafe, Dall’oste stood firm in his decision.

According to the owner, “I only intervened because the children were vandalizing the shop and disrupting other customers.”

Not everyone disagrees with the owner’s actions, however. Various members of the public went on to back Dall’oste’s decision to ask the family to leave.

“Good on the business owner; I would have done the exact same thing. He has a duty to make sure everyone has an enjoyable experience,” wrote one online user.
